Connecticut Association of School Librarians
The AASL annual conference in Hartford is almost upon us. Where did the summer go?
Even in retirement, managing your time well by doing what you want to do can be a challenge. Without focus, time can be wasted.
Peter Bregman’s book 18 Minutes: Find Your Focus, Master Distraction, and Get the Right Things Done, the one book/one conference read, is a big help. I’ve been looking for a good time management book for years. This book has made me rethink my use of time and kept me focused. I created my own form with my priorities and take time each day to make sure that I am focused on what I truly want to accomplish. At the end of the day, I can see what I have done and what I still need to do.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the AASL conference in Hartford. There is dinner with a local librarian on Wednesday night from 6:30 - 9:30 and the New England School Library Association reception at City Steam on Friday night. I will be at both. I will participate in two concurrent sessions: Shed Your Invisibility Cloak on Friday from 1 - 2:15 and Mentoring: A Win, Win Collaboration on Saturday from 1 -2:15.
